However, they have faced the challenge of storing hydrogen in tanks because it takes more volume than traditional jet fuel, which means larger tanks are required. Also, high compression required more solid tanks that lead to heavy tanks. But, hydrogen itself is lighter than regular jet fuel that balances the weight issue.
